From the time of its inception in 1960, Grand Seiko has pursued the pinnacle of wristwatches. This unwavering spirit is embodied in its brand symbol, the lion, which is the inspiration behind this jewelry watch, a limited-edition of eight. The theme of this model is the “red lion,” capturing the passion and majesty of this inspirational creature. The watch is set with over 250 diamonds, between its beautiful 18k rose gold case and its dial, where they join brilliantly shining garnets, stones that represent the passion that transforms effort into success. At the watch’s heart is the Spring Drive 8 Days Caliber 9R01, crafted at the Micro Artist Studio, located within Seiko Epson’s Shiojiri facility, where master watchmakers and artisans unite to create the finest Spring Drive movements. Born from the harmony of Grand Seiko’s philosophy of watchmaking and the inquisitive spirit of the Micro Artist Studio, the movement employs a mechanism with three barrels arranged in a series to achieve an extended eight-day power reserve. This ensures that the watch maintains the high accuracy that is Spring Drive’s hallmark over a long period of time. The exterior of the movement receives its beautiful finishing at the hands of the expert artisans of the Micro Artist Studio.
